Moon & Stars Locarno 2026 was an impressive assignment for DELTAgroup, right at the heart of one of Switzerland's most beautiful open-air festivals. Eleven nights, tens of thousands of visitors and one of Europe's most iconic stages.
Moon & Stars Locarno has a firm place in Switzerland's cultural summer: from 9 to 19 July 2026, the Piazza Grande in Locarno once again turned into a very special open-air arena – with an international line-up of stars, Mediterranean flair and a unique festival atmosphere that attracts visitors from all over Switzerland and neighbouring countries.
For DELTAgroup, it was an assignment that came with great responsibility: large numbers of people in a confined space, a historic square that places particular demands on planning and crowd guidance – and an audience that wants to have fun. And should.
Security expertise across eleven festival nights
DELTAgroup supported Moon & Stars 2026 as the official security partner – for the entire duration of the festival, for every concert evening and for the complete festival infrastructure on the Piazza Grande and in the surrounding perimeter.
In the run-up to the festival, a comprehensive security concept was developed in close cooperation with the organiser and the local authorities and tailored to the specific requirements of the festival grounds.
Clear roles at the festival
The role of security officer of Moon & Stars was held by Marco Poletti – DELTAgroup's head for the Ticino region, but at the festival mandated directly by the organiser and acting on its behalf. As at other events, organising companies specifically request DELTAgroup personnel, based on their experience and quality, to take on the role of security officer for the respective event. This trust honours us – and it ensures clear responsibilities on site.
Our core tasks included:
- Admission and ticket checks
- Point of contact for visitors – from giving directions to assisting guests who are feeling unwell, in close coordination with the medical services
- Crowd management on the Piazza Grande
- VIP and artist support
- Setting up and attending to protective perimeters
- Night-time surveillance of the festival infrastructure
- Coordination with police, medical services and the organiser
Eleven nights on duty
For the DELTAgroup team, Moon & Stars meant an intensive week with changing requirements every day. Different artists, different audiences, different situations – every evening placed its own demands on planning and responsiveness.
The logistical preparations included accreditations, deployment plans, briefings and assignment-specific equipment for all team members.

Our team stood out with its calm presence, clear communication and the experience it takes to act in a festival environment with composure and a genuine focus on the audience. Security and festival atmosphere need not be a contradiction – that is what our team worked towards night after night: approachable, attentive and with a sense of proportion.
