Eventful Tour de Suisse 22 for the DELTAgroup team

A DELTAgroup team accompanied the Tour de Suisse for the second time, covering around 1,500 kilometres and staying at eight different hotels. Their tasks included securing the start area ahead of each tour stage, access control in defined areas such as VIP zones and media centres, and assisting with security at the finish lines.

As a prime partner of the Tour de Suisse organisation team, DELTAgroup provides all manner of security services for Switzerland’s largest sporting event every year. This year also saw the deployment of staff from the ServX, BASIC and DELTA personnel divisions, who welcomed VIP guests in customary DELTA style, made sure sensitive infrastructure (TV compounds, VIP areas, timekeeping systems, etc.) was kept secure overnight, and performed access control duties in the podium and doping control areas.

We once again received heaps of praise from the numerous stakeholders, who were impressed with our consistent but always service-oriented methods. Providing this level of quality throughout the whole event, which lasted over a week, and extreme temperatures of up to 36 degrees were just some of the challenges we faced on what was a huge assignment. But our highly motivated and professional team overcame them all. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all those involved for their outstanding work.

This year’s Tour de Suisse took the riders and the entourage from Küsnacht (canton of Zurich) to Vaduz in Liechtenstein via Grenchen, Ticino and Moosalp. Overall winner Geraint Thomas completed the 1,331-kilometre tour with a cumulative elevation gain of around 21,000 metres in a time of 33 hours and 7 minutes.

A tour ending is a tour beginning, so we are already looking forward to an exciting Tour de Suisse 2023! We will be there again, of course, because DELTAgroup likes to assume responsibility for people’s SECURITY.
