Successful Ablanifest in Winterthur after a 3-year hiatus

After many concerts in the first half of 2022, last weekend saw many cities across Switzerland staging festivals once again – not least @Albanifest in Winterthur, which took place with the support of @DELTAgroup.

Besides the security concept, developed by DELTAgroup Consulting in close consultation with the city authorities in Winterthur, we provided security specialists for traffic control, security enforcement staff at food and drink stalls and sales stands, and security crews for the night-time hours.

An initial assessment of the two-day event paints a positive picture for all those involved and highlights the fact that serious planning and consistent coordination between the organisation committee and the public authorities provides a vital foundation for secure events.

The initially subjective impression of a large rush of visitors indicates that, despite the coronavirus pandemic, people still want to celebrate festivals. But that also means that, in terms of #CrowdManagement and #CrowdControl, previously employed concepts need to be looked at in detail, and the dependencies that arise when there is a large rush of visitors need to be identified.

Particularly after a lengthy hiatus – which also entails new aspects in technical, organisational and personnel areas – knowledge management and the processes require due consideration. When the security of several tens of thousands of visitors is at stake, there’s no room for experimentation.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the public authority partners involved and the Albanifest Organisation Committee for their constructive and active cooperation and we are already looking forward to the next event.
